Google may not be the only company working on smart eyewear – Google Glass. According to The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is testing prototypes for a device similar to Google Glass, which includes a camera and Internet capabilities. Microsoft has been in contact with Asian suppliers for delivery of components. However this product may not come to the mass market.
Juniper Research said in an Oct. 15 report that
“Retail sales of Internet-connected wearable devices, including watches and eyeglasses, will reach $19 billion by 2018, compared with $1.4 billion this year.”
So Microsoft doesn’t want to be late to the party, and is currently playing with prototypes of smart wearable similar to Google Glass. However there is no comment from Microsoft on this news.
