After the launch of next-generation Surface Pro, Microsoft probably needs to clear out whatever stock of first-generation Surface Pro tablets available in warehouse.
Company has announced price cut of $100 on both of its 64GB and 128GB Pro slates, bringing their base prices to $699 and $799, respectively. It it to be mentioned that the discount is only available to customers in the US and Canada. And will stay in place until the units sell out or December 31st, whichever comes first. The company initially dropped the price of these tablets back in August. So its $200 off on the original launch price. The strategy seems similar to the Blackberry Playbook for which the BlackBerry announced huge price drop to clear out its remaining stock from the market.
